The Faculty of Law expresses its appreciation for obtaining the “Gavril Iosif Chiuzbaian” Award for excellence in the field of legal professions and sciences, granted by the Romanian Lawyers’ Union to Teaching Assistant Laura Lazăr, a member of the Department of Public Law.

The distinction was conferred for the work Tratat de drept european în domeniul concurenței, co-authored with Professor Ioan Lazăr and published by C.H. Beck Publishing House, one of the most prestigious legal publishing houses in Romania. The work represents a reference contribution in the field of competition law, combining scientific rigor with a systematic and updated approach to European law.

The award is named after Gavril Iosif Chiuzbaian, former president of the Romanian Jurists Union and vice-president of the International Association of Democratic Jurists, a prominent figure in Romanian legal life. The laudatio was delivered by Mr. Ovidiu Predescu, during the official ceremony organized by the Romanian Jurists Union.

For the academic community of the Faculty of Law, this recognition confirms the value of the teaching and scientific activity carried out by its staff and strengthens the prestige of the Cluj law school in the national legal space.

This award has a deeply personal meaning for me. I have dreamed of it since my student years, on the faculty benches. In this regard, I would like to thank the UBB Faculty of Law and its teaching staff who have trained me intellectually and professionally and who have instilled in me rigor, passion for law and respect for scientific research. The award honors me, but at the same time, it obliges me to persevere in my publishing and research activity, with the responsibility that membership in this academic community of excellence entails. I believe that excellence is not an isolated act, but a habit cultivated through work, perseverance and fidelity to the truth.” (Assistant. Univ. Dr. Laura Lazăr).
