On 14 April 2025, the new headquarters of the Faculty of Law in Cluj was officially inaugurated, marking the completion of a major investment project.

The new building represents one of the significant investments of Babeș-Bolyai University, modernized with the University’s own funds and with European funds allocated under the North-West Regional Programme 2021–2027, within the project titled Restructuring, rehabilitation, internal modifications and change of use of Building C2 – from hotel to educational facilities.

The new premises ensure high-quality and inclusive conditions for the teaching and learning process, including distance and online learning, as well as related activities.

Investments in the development of educational infrastructure in higher education contribute to ensuring access to learning environments that foster personal development, social cohesion, and sustainable growth.

In the long term, the objective is to create an inclusive, innovative, interconnected and attractive higher education space. In the short term, the focus is on strengthening universities’ involvement in society, increasing education funding, accelerating digitalization, and enhancing the role of education in achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

The total value of the financing contract amounts to 32,855,946.41 RON, of which 31,721,219.6 RON represent the eligible non-reimbursable contribution from the EU and the national budget.

The inauguration was attended by current and former academic staff of the Faculty of Law, media representatives, students, members of the legal professions and public institutions, as well as the Minister of Education and Research (Daniel David), the Acting Rector of Babeș-Bolyai University (Adrian Petrușel), and the President of the University Senate (Florin Streteanu).

The new headquarters of the Faculty of Law is located at 10–12 General Traian Moșoiu Street, Cluj-Napoca.
