Between 4 and 7 June 2025, the team composed of Maria Agighioleanu (2nd year), Alexia-Petra Pescar (2nd year), Dragoș Patrick Pop (2nd year), and Eduard-Ovidiu Șovan (2nd year), supported by Giulia-Roxana Apolzan (2nd year), participated in the Telders International Law Moot Court Competition held at The Hague, at the seat of the International Court of Justice.

The team was coached by Gabriela Dănilă, lawyer at the Cluj Bar and collaborator of the Faculty of Law, Department of Public International Law.

“The Telders Moot Court Competition” is the most prestigious international law moot in Europe, bringing together over 20 university teams each year. The international rounds take place at The Hague (Netherlands), offering students of Europe’s top universities the opportunity to debate public international law issues and engage in networking with experts in the field.

The team from the Faculty of Law of Babeș-Bolyai University achieved remarkable results, recognized by both the memorials’ evaluation committee and the oral round judges in The Hague.

The pair Maria Agighioleanu and Dragoș Patrick Pop ranked 6th in the overall classification for written and oral pleadings for the Respondent State.

In the general ranking of the 2025 edition, the Faculty of Law team placed 18th out of 28 participating teams.

The Faculty of Law proudly supports its students who venture beyond the traditional framework of national law by participating in prestigious international moot court competitions, acknowledging their dedication and effort.

This experience would not have been possible without the support of Babeș-Bolyai University and the main sponsor, ING Bank Romania, to whom we extend our gratitude for investing in education and performance.
