National Conference of Commercial Law – 2025 Edition

On 13 June 2025, marking the 35th anniversary of the adoption of Law no. 31/1990, the Faculty of Law hosted the National Conference of Commercial Law. As a reflection of the complexity inherent in commercial law, the conference bore the title „Practical Issues in Company Law, Credit Law, Capital Markets Law, and Insolvency Law: Intersections, Developments, Adaptability, and Perspectives.”
The structure of the conference involved the organization of scholarly presentations within four thematic panels:
- Company Law I – The Complexity of the Field; A Practical Approach (moderators: Professor N. Catană, Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca; Associate Professor Lucian Bojin, West University of Timișoara);
- Company Law II – Adaptability and Efficiency of the Legislative and Jurisprudential Framework (moderators: Professor Ioan Schiau, Transilvania University of Brașov; Senior Lecturer Flaminia Stârc-Meclejan, West University of Timișoara);
- Banking Law, Secured Transactions, and Capital Markets Law (moderator: Professor Lucian Bercea, West University of Timișoara);
- Insolvency Law – Common Elements with, or Aspects Involving, Company Law (moderators: Senior Lecturer Sergiu Golub, Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca; Professor Radu Bufan, West University of Timișoara).
The conference was attended by a large number of lawyers, insolvency practitioners, members of the judiciary, professors, and researchers.
Two specialized works were also launched during the event:
