At the end of 2025, Professor Emeritus Gheorghiță Mateuț proposes to the scientific community a new, second, revised and expanded edition of the work Criminal Procedure. General Part. Conceived as a true treatise on general theory, the work proposes, over 1,288 pages, an exhaustive, theoretical and practical analysis, in which the dual object of criminal procedure (criminal trial and adjacent judicial proceedings) is presented in all its technical details. Along with the technical approach to the subject, the treatise incorporates all the developments in domestic criminal doctrines and jurisprudence, as well as multiple comparative law references. Romanian criminal procedure is thus positioned in a European context, chosen by the author precisely to allow comparisons with other procedural systems, belonging to the Romano-German, Nordic, continental common law or American systems.

The book is available on the website of the Universul Juridic Publishing House, at www.ujmag.ro.
