The European Association of Tax Law Professors (EATLP), known in Romanian as Asociația Europeană a Profesorilor de Drept Fiscal, has existed for 25 years and brings together professors of tax law from leading European universities.

The Faculty of Law notes with satisfaction that, in 2025, Romania enjoyed an appropriate representation within this prestigious professional organization. Thus, for the first time, Romania submitted a complete and timely national report on the topic of the 2025 conference, “Real Estate Taxation”, prepared and signed by the co-rapporteurs Professor Mihaela Tofan (Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași) and Associate Professor Cosmin Flavius Costaș (Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca).

On the occasion of the EATLP General Assembly, held between 19–21 June 2025 in Bergen (Norway), Romania’s representation was confirmed by the inclusion of the two co-rapporteurs in the Academic Committee of the European Association of Tax Law Professors, the most important European association of tax law scholars.

During the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cosmin Flavius Costaș presented the paper entitled “Controversies between Capital Gains Tax and Property (Transfer) Taxes.”

It was an excellent conference overall, conducted under the guidance of Prof. Michal Radvan from Masaryk University in Brno (General Reporter). The event was particularly noteworthy for the strong participation of tax law professors from Eastern Europe.
