General Presentation of the Master’s Courses

After completing the bachelor’s degree, the Faculty of Law in Cluj offers the possibility of specializing in one of the 5 master’s degree modules.

The master’s degree program in Criminal Sciences and Forensics is probably the most popular and with the largest number of students each year. Students have the opportunity to deepen their specialized knowledge through disciplines such as Criminal Business Law, Computer Crime or Comparative Criminal Procedure.

A “classic” master’s degree program is that of Private Law Institutions. Here, among others, Digital Contracts, Inheritance Law Issues or European and Comparative Property Law are studied.

Existing for more than two decades at the Faculty of Law in Cluj, previously as Community Law and Community Institutions, the master’s program in European Law and National Business Law has adapted its structure over time and now allows for the completion of courses such as European Competition Law, Business Law and Administrative Authorizations or the Legal Regime of Industrial Property.

Designed as a dynamic master’s program for business, the International and Comparative Business Law program is one in English. Some of the professors who teach here are guest professors from prestigious universities abroad or in Romania, and among the interested students are some from Spain, Italy, France, Nigeria or Kurdistan. Disciplines such as Electronic Commerce Law, Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence, European Tax Law or European Labor Law in the Digital Age offer a very special look at the field.

Last but not least, the Faculty also offers a program entitled Private Law of the European Union, taught entirely in Hungarian. This program is supported by professors from partner faculties in Hungary, and the curriculum includes courses such as European Civil Procedure Law, European Union Environmental Law and Policy, and Actions before the Union Courts.

All Master’s programs encourage in-depth scientific research and provide students with academic tools to support their individual efforts. Some of the research results of Master’s students are published in the journals Studia Universitatis Babeș-Bolyai. Iurisprudentia, Caiete de Drept Penal, and Cluj Tax Forum Journal.
