    Information regarding the admission competition for the academic year2026 - 2027

    The Faculty of Law will also organize an admission session in September 2025, Master's level, for the following SPECIALIZATIONS with a DURATION OF 1 YEAR (2 SEMESTRES), PART-TIME EDUCATION

    1. PRIVATE LAW INSTITUTIONS – 30 places with fees and one ethnic place;

    2. EUROPEAN AND NATIONAL BUSINESS LAW – 2 budget places, 30 places with fees and 2 ethnic places;

    3. PRIVATE EUROPEAN UNION LAW (IN HUNGARIAN) – 6 budget places, 45 places with fees;

    4. INTERNATIONAL AND COMPARATIVE BUSINESS LAW (IN ENGLISH) – 2 budget places and 30 places with fee.

    THEMES AND BIBLIOGRAPHY

    For the specialization “European and national business law”, admission is made on the basis of a file presented by each candidate (50% weight in the evaluation) and an interview (50% weight in the evaluation).

    For the specialization “Private law institutions”, admission consists of an interview and evaluation of the application file – WITHOUT TOPIC.

    For the specialization “Private law of the European Union”, admission consists of the presentation of a CV and a letter of intent, as well as an interview in Hungarian from the topic displayed in the Documents section.

    For the specialization “International and comparative business law”, admission consists of an interview in English and evaluation of the application file.

    Tie-breaking criteria:

    1. average obtained in the bachelor’s exam;
    2. general average of the years of study (1-4) – bachelor’s level

    MASTER'S ADMISSION CALENDAR

    Registration – 5 – 7 September 2025 (on 7 September until 10:00)

    • Period for reporting errors and omissions (wrong grades, incorrectly calculated averages, incorrect personal data)- 8 September 2025 (until 14:00)

    Interview – 9 September 2025

    • Results display – 10 September 2025
    • Appeals period – 10 – 11 September 2025
    • Appeals resolution – 11 September 2025
    • Confirmation of places, redistributions – 11 – 13 September 2025 (on 13 September until 10:00)
    • Final results display – 15 September 2025

    IMPORTANT SPECIFICATIONS:

    Only graduates who cumulatively meet the following requirements can apply for admission:

    – minimum 4-year study duration, bachelor’s level (minimum 240 credits)

    – possession of a certificate of linguistic competence in an internationally spoken language according to UBB requirements (approved certificates can be found in the Documents section)

    YOU CAN CHOOSE MORE SPECIALIZATIONS, AFTER WHEN REGISTERING, YOU MUST PAY A FEE FOR EACH SPECIALIZATION AND UPLOAD THE DOCUMENTS FOR EACH DESIRED SPECIALIZATION

    TUITION FEE – 5,000 lei/academic year (of which the first installment of 1,250 lei will be paid upon confirmation of the place)

    REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

    Candidates will upload scans of the following DOCUMENTS to the admission platform https://admitere.ubbcluj.ro/:

    1. Application form – completed online with all the requested information and signed; forms with omissions are not taken into account (GENERATED FROM THE ADMISSION PLATFORM, after filling in personal data);
    2. Baccalaureate diploma and high school transcript (both scanned in the same double-sided color document) or its equivalent diploma and transcript; PDF, JPG, PNG up to 2MB;
    3. Bachelor’s degree and Diploma Supplement or Bachelor’s degree certificate (for graduates of the 2025 class) – (scanned double-sided color) – PDF, JPG, PNG up to 2MB;
    4. Language proficiency certificate (MANDATORY for all specializations) (scanned front and back in color) – PDF, JPG, PNG up to 2MB. Language proficiency is certified by the Language Proficiency Certificate issued by the modern language departments of accredited universities (with a qualification corresponding to at least level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference of the Council of Europe). The validity of this certificate is two years from the date of issue. Accepted certificates are displayed in the Documents section. International certificates are also valid. For candidates who have graduated from a specialization in the field of international languages ​​or a double specialization with a component in the field of international languages, it is not necessary to present the language proficiency certificate. The language proficiency certificate can be equivalent to a document certifying an internship abroad of at least 6 months, in education or research;
    5. Scanned birth certificate in color; PDF, JPG, PNG up to 2MB;
    6. Scanned identity card in color; PDF, JPG, PNG up to 2MB;
    7. Medical certificate issued in 2025 (scanned in color) issued by the school offices or family doctor, which shows that they are fit for admission; PDF, JPG, PNG up to 2MB;
    8. ADMISSION FEE – 350 lei; payment will be made online, with CARD on the admission platform. ADMISSION FEE = processing fee (50 lei) + registration fee (300 lei) – For discounts or tax exemptions, please see the attached document below or in the Documents section.
    9. ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS depending on the specialization of the master’s degree:

    9.1. Curriculum vitae (Europass format): in Hungarian for the specialization Private Law of the European Union; in Romanian or English for the specialization International and Comparative Business Law; in Romanian for the specialization European Law and National Business Law.

    9.2. Letter of intent: in Hungarian for the specialization Private Law of the European Union; in English for the specialization International and Comparative Business Law (maximum 3,000 characters including spaces); in Romanian for the specialization European Law and National Business Law;

    9.3. Letter of recommendation attesting to the knowledge of the employer, coordinator, decision-maker in the organization where the volunteering took place, etc. of the candidate’s personal and professional qualities, which must be exemplified. It must come from outside the Cluj university environment and other supporting documents, considered to provide a competitive advantage to the candidate – for the specialization International and Comparative Business Law.

    9.4. Diploma Supplement or Transcript of Records from the 4 years of study – for the specialization European Law and National Business Law (except for UBB-DREPT 2025 graduates).

    – For candidates who are Romanian citizens, with a Romanian identity card but who completed their studies in another country – proof of submitting documents for the equivalence of studies and the certificate of equivalence of grades. Candidates with university studies abroad, but with citizenship and residence in Romania, will have to have their studies equivalized before registering.
