1. PRIVATE LAW INSTITUTIONS – 30 places with fees and one ethnic place;
2. EUROPEAN AND NATIONAL BUSINESS LAW – 2 budget places, 30 places with fees and 2 ethnic places;
3. PRIVATE EUROPEAN UNION LAW (IN HUNGARIAN) – 6 budget places, 45 places with fees;
4. INTERNATIONAL AND COMPARATIVE BUSINESS LAW (IN ENGLISH) – 2 budget places and 30 places with fee.
For the specialization “European and national business law”, admission is made on the basis of a file presented by each candidate (50% weight in the evaluation) and an interview (50% weight in the evaluation).
For the specialization “Private law institutions”, admission consists of an interview and evaluation of the application file – WITHOUT TOPIC.
For the specialization “Private law of the European Union”, admission consists of the presentation of a CV and a letter of intent, as well as an interview in Hungarian from the topic displayed in the Documents section.
For the specialization “International and comparative business law”, admission consists of an interview in English and evaluation of the application file.
Tie-breaking criteria:
– Registration – 5 – 7 September 2025 (on 7 September until 10:00)
– Interview – 9 September 2025
IMPORTANT SPECIFICATIONS:
Only graduates who cumulatively meet the following requirements can apply for admission:
– minimum 4-year study duration, bachelor’s level (minimum 240 credits)
– possession of a certificate of linguistic competence in an internationally spoken language according to UBB requirements (approved certificates can be found in the Documents section)
YOU CAN CHOOSE MORE SPECIALIZATIONS, AFTER WHEN REGISTERING, YOU MUST PAY A FEE FOR EACH SPECIALIZATION AND UPLOAD THE DOCUMENTS FOR EACH DESIRED SPECIALIZATION
TUITION FEE – 5,000 lei/academic year (of which the first installment of 1,250 lei will be paid upon confirmation of the place)
Candidates will upload scans of the following DOCUMENTS to the admission platform https://admitere.ubbcluj.ro/:
9.1. Curriculum vitae (Europass format): in Hungarian for the specialization Private Law of the European Union; in Romanian or English for the specialization International and Comparative Business Law; in Romanian for the specialization European Law and National Business Law.
9.2. Letter of intent: in Hungarian for the specialization Private Law of the European Union; in English for the specialization International and Comparative Business Law (maximum 3,000 characters including spaces); in Romanian for the specialization European Law and National Business Law;
9.3. Letter of recommendation attesting to the knowledge of the employer, coordinator, decision-maker in the organization where the volunteering took place, etc. of the candidate’s personal and professional qualities, which must be exemplified. It must come from outside the Cluj university environment and other supporting documents, considered to provide a competitive advantage to the candidate – for the specialization International and Comparative Business Law.
9.4. Diploma Supplement or Transcript of Records from the 4 years of study – for the specialization European Law and National Business Law (except for UBB-DREPT 2025 graduates).

– For candidates who are Romanian citizens, with a Romanian identity card but who completed their studies in another country – proof of submitting documents for the equivalence of studies and the certificate of equivalence of grades. Candidates with university studies abroad, but with citizenship and residence in Romania, will have to have their studies equivalized before registering.
