The Legal Documentation Workshop offers a free training session for all those interested in two topics: (1) maximum use of the functionalities offered by the Sintact.ro legal database subscription and (2) discovering the legal citation rules that students, teachers, researchers, and practitioners can implement through computers that will assist them in generating citations in accordance with the rules proposed by law schools and the editorial offices of reference university journals.<\/p>\n
The presentation of Sintact.ro functionalities will be carried out directly by its developers. Interaction with the public will allow for real communication so that all questions and concerns of those present can receive the best answer.<\/p>\n
Students will discover how to activate their accounts and access the functions of the digital platform. Those who already use it will be able to discover new interaction techniques: calendars, the use of document folders [briefcase], extracting and printing content from documents, alerts on changes to normative acts, advanced search rules (special characters and logical operators).<\/p>\n
The event will continue with the presentation of citation rules coded for computing machines and proposed for use in the drafting of texts to be published in the law journal of Babe\u0219-Bolyai University and beyond.<\/p>\n
The presentation proposes the revitalization of the Romanian legal citation system and emphasizes the necessary evolution from the transition in indicating by citation of traditionally printed sources to the use and citation of digital ones (not only journal articles or books distributed in ebook format but also drafts and normative acts, national and international court decisions, etc.) \u2013 which have become predominant in most works in recent years.<\/p>\n
Students, professors, practitioners, will discover the distinctions between simple web addresses and persistent identifiers, the functionalities related to the public archiving of web pages, will learn the rules regarding the correct indication of the date of online consultation and will be the first to discover the innovations proposed in the generation of citations for the Romanian legal field through computer assistance.<\/p>\n
Thus, in the spirit of multilingualism but also of innovation in research as well as the desire to be involved in communication with society, the Faculty of Law of Babe\u0219-Bolyai University and the journal Studia Universitatis Babe\u0219-Bolyai Iurisprudentia position themselves as promoters of best practices in the field and as pioneers in the assistance offered for Romanian legal research.<\/p>\n
