The <em>Professor Emeritus<\/em> diploma was awarded to our distinguished colleague in a festive setting by the President of the Senate of Babe\u0219-Bolyai University, Professor Florin Streteanu.<\/p>\n<p>Born on April 20, 1960, Professor Gheorghi\u021b\u0103 Mateu\u021b graduated from the Faculty of Law in Cluj in 1984 and has been a doctor of law from the same institution since 1995. First a prosecutor, and since 1991 a lawyer in the Arad Bar, he followed all the steps of his university career and, since 2001, he has been a full professor in the discipline of Criminal Procedural Law. He is a member of the International Association of Criminal Law, a renowned doctoral coordinator, with a rich publishing activity in the field of criminal procedure and criminal law. Professor Gheorghi\u021b\u0103 Mateu\u021b has distinguished himself as a Professor who contributed to the education of entire generations of students and justice auditors, whom he inspired, as a dedicated researcher and, last but not least, as a defender par excellence. The professor&#8217;s most recent reference works saw the light of day in 2019 and 2024, at the Universul Juridic Publishing House: <em>Criminal Procedure. General Part<\/em> and <em>Criminal Procedure.
